Merredin Solar Farm in Merredin, WA. - 132MW

Developed & Operated by Risen Energy, the Merredin solar farm is located approximately 260km east of Perth, it is Western Australia’s largest completed solar plant. Its output of 274GWh of electricity annually generates enough green energy to power approximately 42,000 homes.

Through a PPA signed with BHP in February 2021, the solar farm also supplies BHP Nickel West’s Kwinana Refinery with 50MW of Merredin’s capacity until 2031, covering up to 50% of the refinery’s electricity use.

The Yarranlea Solar Farm - 103MW

Owned and operated by Risen Energy, the Yarranlea solar farm is situated on 250ha of sparsely vegetated farmland about 50km west of Toowoomba. The solar farm has a generation capacity of up to 103MW, enough to power up to 32,000 homes.
