Is it a VPP?

No! A traditional VPP control’s your battery to their benefit and gives you a small share.

Amber will optimise your battery for your benefit and you will keep 100% of the benefits/profits.

How much control do I have?

100%. You can disable optimisations at any time. You also get manual controls to charge

and discharge your battery at will when prices are low/high to ensure you are always ready

to support your energy needs.

SmartShift™(Amber’s battery optimisation software) has been approved by the SA Gov under REPS. By joining Amber, click here to sign up to Amber, you may be eligible for a cash rebate up to $2050 for a new power, for supporting a greener grid. You’ll also have your battery optimised to save you money. Rebate amount depends on your battery size.

You can claim for more than one battery, up to a maximum of 28kWh of capacity. However, you can only claim a REPS rebate once, so if you want to expand your battery capacity, talk to us before claiming your rebate so you can earn a higher cashback.

To take advantage of the rebate available, you must join Amber Electric. Theres no lock-in to Amber. Read more about REPS on this link. 

Will I be locked in?

No! Amber will not lock you in. You can claim your REPS rebate and leave Amber, though we suggest you stay with them for a few months, for the system to learn how to best optimise your setup and demonstrate value. Amber’s wholesale energy model delivers value over time.
